Astro Towing has proudly been serving Saskatchewan for over 45 years. We are a locally owned and operated company providing emergency roadside service, towing, accident and abandoned vehicle recovery, and hauling services to our community and partners. Our fleet operates a variety of equipment ranging from battery vans and light duty tow trucks to heavy wreckers and tractor-trailer units. We pride ourselves on being able to take on any job – big, small or complicated, delivering excellent customer service, operating safely and efficiently, and employing passionate professionals to meet the needs of our customers.
What we’re looking for
We are looking to add a Call Taker / Dispatcher to our dynamic and dedicated team. This position is a key liaison between our customers and fleet operators and is responsible for providing top-notch service throughout the entire process – from answering calls, assessing needs, and dispatching appropriate equipment as needed. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded individual, who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and are looking for someone who is accustomed to shift work, including a variety of days, evenings, overnights and weekends.
What you’ll be doing
- Answering customer calls on a multi-line phone system
- Collecting essential information and entering data in the electronic system in “real time” while communicating with customers
- Estimating and providing accurate service estimates to customers
- Coordinating with peers to dispatch fleet operators effectively and efficiently
- Responding to incoming customer inquiries via telephone and emails in a timely manner
- Clearly communicating the specifics of each customer situation to fleet operators
- Verifying and confirming invoices prior to sending to customers
- Preparing necessary documentation as per customers’ requests
- Helping out with other duties as assigned
What you’ll need to bring
- Minimum of 1-2 years of customer-service experience
- Passion for helping others with a positive, can-do, and fun-loving attitude
- Computer savviness and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong comprehension and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Willingness and ability to stay calm under pressure and manage high-stress situations
- Excellent organizational skills with a great attention for detail
- Team-oriented attitude, desire to support others, and a willingness to “get stuff done” and keep busy
- Ability to learn quickly and contribute to the greater good of a fast-paced office
- Ability to diffuse and resolve conflict in a professional manner
- Clear criminal record check
